Villages in the Maprik Distrcit of East Sepik are opposed to the SABL land grab and want the Prime Minister to cancel the illegal leases.

The people of the area are mostly subsistence farmers and alluvial miners.

They say they are opposed to corruption and are very wary of the current government as they can see ;and grabbing happening all around their area.

People in the ivillages of Butting, Nilu, Walnut, Wamalma, Ami, Albinama and Albigesmamblep have all held protests in recent weeks and have been signing postcards calling on the PM to act to cancel the SABL leases.
