Nautilus Minerals: State of PNG pays $113 million into Escrow

Nautilus Minerals Inc. announces that the Independent State of Papua New Guinea's nominee for participation in the Company's Solwara 1 Project has today placed US$113,000,000 into escrow, representing the balance of the funding for the State nominee's 15% share of the capital required to complete the development phase of the Project up to first production.

The Papua New Guinea activist group ACT NOW speaks out about Australian banks involved in land dealings

Oh alleluia, outside the church building a woman in rags drags her children to a place somewhere but we do not want to be bothered. She is just a poor woman and right now… we are busy with God.

West Papua supporters say Indonesia dividing MSG

The chairperson of the Vanuatu Free West Papua Association believes Indonesia is trying to divide members of the Melanesian Spearhead Group and weaken their stance on West Papua.

The Vanuatu government decided to boycott a foreign ministers delegation to Indonesia this week because the itinerary did not include any meetings with groups concerned about alleged human rights abuses in West Papua.

Temu: PNG Gets Windfall From Resource Projects

Which planet has he been on I wonder? Oh that's right he gets to see the money before it is squandered away by all those at the top of the resource income food chain, because as far as translating into tangible socio-economic development for the PNG as a whole - there's just a whole heap of hot air happening.
