Papua New Guinea's Attorney General apologizes for racial abuse over PMIZ

Papua New Guinea's Attorney General, Arnold Amet, has published an unreserved apology for his racial attack on MP Ken Fairweather at last week's Pacific Marine Industrial Zone forum.

The attack, which was captured on video and published on the ACT NOW! blog, has drawn widespread criticism. The Attorney General has not yet, however, given any indication he is reconsidering his support for the government's Pacific Marine Industrial Zone, which provoked his attack on Mr Fairweather who is supporting local people's opposition to the project.

i will never accept any apology coz u have sentenced so many people to kalabus for any form of inequality and racism is also inequality..u late pinis go silip minister

No need and no reason for apologising, when you know that it was wrong and you ignorantly said it. Such statement of abuse from a senior state man, MP, Minister and former CJ is not acceptable.

Dear Minister, you apology is a mere 'cover-up' of your ignorant/intentional abusive statement.

Don't act on impulse; think before you speak.
