Goi Bal is working hard to build an aid post for his community from his own funds

By Rachel Shisei from Bismarck Ramu Group

Goi Bal is just a driver who helps his people to travel from Jimi to Banz in the Jiwaka Province, to access the basic services. His transportation service is much valued by the people of Jimi but to him, that doesn't solve anything, especially when it comes to accessing and getting medical help in time to save the innocent lives.

The lower, middle and upper Jimi people have to cross mountains before getting to the road side to get on a truck before traveling to Banz to access the basic services. Being a driver and having driven up and down the very rugged Jimi Highway,

Goi Bal has seen the struggles of his people, and he can feel the hardships they go through because he is a father and a husband himself. He has now used his own pocket money to build a aid post right in his area to help save the countless number of lives of especially mothers and babies who die everyday on their way to the hospital.

This is his story.
