Research Conference present research to Waigani

Universities and research institutions involved in this week’s research Science and Technology conference presented resolution papers to Planning Minister Charles Abel today.

The conference hosted by the University of Papua New Guinea’s School of Natural and Physical Science and the School of Medicine and Health Sciences saw many presentations on research and sustainable development.

Minister Abel and Oro Governor Gary Jufa received the “PNG Way” conference resolution on promoting sustainable development through Science and Technology.

Among the recommendations was for the government to appropriate funds up to 5 percent of the annual budget towards research and development in all sectors.

UPNG’s Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Petsul thanked all the presenters and those who participated in the conference since Monday.
