PM: Procedures Were followed

The continuation of the Suspicious Air Traffic movement saga from The National...

O’Neill, at a media conference at Morauta Haus attended by heads of departments of customs, transport, civil aviation, police, immigrations and other agencies, said according to the investigations by respective agencies, including police, the plane had met all requirements and that there was no illegality about its landing.

So it was all legal and the passengers were officials from Vanuatu who stopped by to have a quick meet with their Foreign Minister who was here in PNG on an official visit to the US Ambassador. Everything was above suspicion even if our Prime Minister was not aware of the arrival of the diplomats...but then this....

Meanwhile, a story from the Fairfax group of newspapers said a Thai with a Vanuatu diplomatic passport Vu Anh Quan Saken , who reputedly owned super yacht Phocea, seized under suspicion in Vanuatu since July last year, was one of the passengers in the plane. The other was said to be another Asian, also with a Vanutau diplomatic passport, Saken Henry.

The relationship of the two men is not known but Vanuatu police have been trying to talk to them in connection with Phocea.

hmmmph! Still sounds abit peculiar if you ask me.
