Several Papua New Guineans who travelled to Australia for the Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit say little attention was paid to PNG or the Pacific.
The Summit is billed as a get-together of ministers from forest nations, donor countries, corporate leaders and NGOs with a focus on practical action to reduce forest loss.
PNG is home to the world's third largest tract of tropical rainforests yet the Papua New Guineans who came for the summit say it was barely mentioned.
They were hoping to garner international support to pressure the PNG government to cancel several controversial leases they say are a back-door way to conduct logging.
